Vacation!

We spent a week in Del Mar, California for our vacation this year! It was so much fun! Our kids did so well on the plane, no tears at all. Saylor was so excited and has decided she wants to be a pilot when she grows up. Getting there was kind of an adventure though. After landing in LA, we had to wait 3 hours on the curb of the rental car place before we could get our car! Then we had a loooong drive, thanks to the rush hour traffic, down to Del Mar. It took us 2 1/2 hours to go 100 miles!



Del Mar is so beautiful! We found this park that overlooked the ocean!


We spent a few days at the beach, too. Beckam loved the waves and Saylor loved the sand!






We went to San Diego's Old Town and saw the sites.
We spent a day at San Diego's Wild Animal Park.
We were feeding these birds and they were landing all over us! There's one on Adam's head! Saylor and Beckam got a kick out of that.

There was a splash park there that turned out to be their favorite part! It was so hot that day!

We went with my family (minus Rach's fam) so it was fun to be with them. We spent a lot of time at the pool trying to convince Saylor that water is fun. Beckam didn't need any convincing though! We went to Laguna which was so pretty...and fancy! Their parking meters take credit cards! Saylor and Brinkley (cousin) got to spend a whole week together and were so good! They even got to share a bed. Saylor is having Brinkley-withdrawals now. It seems like we spent half of our time chasing Beckam down the hall outside our room! He loved exploring and "playing" with Say, Bri, and Reese. We also went to Knott's Soak City water park...probably a mistake considering Saylor hates the water. Beckam enjoyed it way more than she did! She spent the majority of the time on the lawn chair with my dad. It's funny how different our kids are. Saylor is so much like me, while Beckam is so much like Adam! On our trip home we spent 4 hours at the airport because we had to drop off our rental car so much earlier than our flight. We flew out at 7 pm so we were banking on both kids sleeping during the flight. We're not that lucky though and they didn't sleep a wink! I was sick, surprise, so Adam kind of had to deal with them both! We had such a good time in California and are sad that it's already over!!
