Happy New Year!

Somehow we manage to get the flu every year during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Why should this year be any different? We were feeling better by about the 30th but wanted to play it safe. Unfortunately that put a damper on our plans, so our New Year's Rockin' Eve was spent at home with the kids, pizza, cookies, and a movie. By New Year's Day we were ready to get out of the house so we went sledding!

It was Saylor and Beckam's first time! Saylor, surprisingly, LOVED it! She went all by herself and would yell "weee!" all the way down the hill. She also threw imaginary turtle shells at the other sledders (she and Adam love to play Mario Cart together). It was really funny. Beckam was kind of indifferent about the whole experience. He caught a glimpse of a nearby basketball hoop and lost all interest in sledding. He kept asking for a "bethabaw" so he could go shoot some hoops and threw a big fit when I didn't have one. So he and I ended up sitting in the snow at the bottom of the hill just watching Saylor and Adam (and pouting...him, not me).

We love us some hot chocolate and drink it whenever we have the opportunity...so that's what we did when we got home. Beckam has a mouthful...
He also liked dipping his pretzels in it.
Happy New Year!!
