Camping!

We went camping with the whole Baird bunch during the beginning of August. We went up to a spot at Monte Cristo that my family has been going to for...always. It was so pretty! We had foil dinners and s'mores, shot my Dad's gun, went for walks, got dirty...we had fun! The only bad part was that it rained and stormed...thunder, lightning, wind...all night long! The kids were scared and we didn't get enough sleep, but it's all part of the camping experience with my family!

My kids' fears were all exposed during our little adventure. They wouldn't get anywhere near the campfire! I blame the fire on the mountain right by our house, and the other fire we saw that destroyed a lumber place...right by our house. They were also scared of the gun! We didn't even make them get close, and it really wasn't loud! They're better off that way, I guess. Here's what they did while their braver cousins shot the gun...

We had fun and the kids were troopers...we were all troopers! Once a year is enough, right?
